Derek Wimpee, Executive Director

Coach Derek Wimpeé was born and raised in Arizona where he played through the ages 3 – 17 until injuries became the best of him. After his path as a player ended, it was the same high school he played for that his coaching career began. Derek started coaching as the high school boy’s Head JV Coach & Assistant Varsity Coach for Payson Longhorns in AZ from 2009-2011. After 2011, Derek took a few years off as he and his family transitioned their lives to Boise, Idaho.  

After settling into their new town, Derek returned to coaching. Over the last 7 years, he has expanded his career and knowledge of the game coaching competitive within the Treasure Valley. Derek has traveled to Verona, Italy to live and breathe soccer culture while working with their Serie B Club, Chievo Verona. He completed their coaching diploma course and brought this experience of the game to share with athletes in the states. In addition, he spent a season as the Women’s Assistant Coach for Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon.  

Coach Derek is married to Amanda Wimpeé and they have two beautiful daughters, Taylor (13yrs) and Riley (7yrs). They are his biggest fans and support system. He is a true family’s man and prides himself in bringing this same culture into his soccer programs. A team that trusts one another and works as a unit is one of the strongest bonds they can have.
